About the Event
Feeling stressed? Or in need of a writing pick-me-up? Join trained writing therapist Joy Sawyer as she guides you through relaxing writing prompts and offers tips on how to write to stay sane!
Joy's fresh, kind, encouraging approach is uniquely helpful to both beginning and experienced writers, and she uses her special expertise in writing blocks, reflective goal setting, and creating a nourishing writing life to help writers work on poetry, memoir, personal essays, and fiction.
In addition to her regular workshops, Joy facilitates many of Lighthouse's community outreach programs. She teaches the Denver Central, Arvada, and Edgewater Library's Hard Times writing workshops, designed for people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and other "hard times," as well as Writing to Be Free, a workshop for women transitioning out of incarceration.
Please bring a pen and notebook or your laptop for this workshop.
