About the Event
In this holistic workshop, we'll engage in deep discussion with our peers and practice and learn movement and mindfulness techniques to combat anxiety, isolation, stress, and depression.
As a disability advocate, Rachel (she/her) helped hundreds of individuals coping with chronic and disabling health issues navigate the legal and healthcare system. She found this work rewarding but also was too aware of the shortcomings of our modern approach to health and healthcare. Enter: Yoga. Rachel found her own yoga practice and began to notice sustained results like better physical healing, better sleep, better mental health, and more joy in connecting with others. She needed to share this magic – this practice that lets one find peace of mind no matter what’s happening in the body or the busy life.
Now Rachel is dedicated to teaching safe, inclusive, joyful yoga to all. She has a 200 certification in Power Yoga from The River, a 200 hour certification in Accessible Yoga from Embrace, Embody, Empower, an 85 hour certification in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga through Kristen Boyle’s Coming Into Being teacher training, and most recently she completed an intensive 30 hour Accessible Yoga training with Jivana Heyman.
Rachel continues to study anatomy and seeks out the wisdom of yoga scholars from the past and present. She is most inspired by the love and connection that comes through awareness and compassion. She is committed to svadhyaya, self-study, so that she can show up for others with love and authenticity.
There are 4 events in this series and we encourage you to take part in all 4 if you're able to in order to make the most of this important practice.
