About the Event
Take a laughter break today as you explore the benefits and fun of Laughter Yoga. This practice, started in India 25 years ago by Dr. Madan Kataria, is based on the premise that we don’t need jokes or humor to enjoy the benefits of laughter as an exercise aimed at releasing stress and boosting serotonin levels.
Each session includes warm-up movements (which can be done standing or sitting), a series of laughter prompts interspersed with breathing pauses, and finally a short meditation.
We will experience a laughter yoga session followed by time for questions and a discussion of the use of laughter yoga as a solo practice, as well as with clients and in laughter clubs, both in person and on zoom. A resource list will be provided to participants.
The session will be facilitated by Kathy Riley, a certified laughter yoga leader and long-time member of the Denver Laughter Club.
